Cadence governor
full power aboverpm
Below that cadence, target power is reduced in proportion (never under 50%) so resistance can't snowball. It only acts when the target is above 80% of FTP.

Distance model
Average speed at 150 wmph
Distance is estimated from power with a physics model (air drag + rolling resistance + momentum), scaled so 150 w holds this speed on flat ground. It goes into the summary and the .fit file.
Enter your target FTP — the power you think you can hold for about an hour. Every interval in the test is based on this number. Your saved FTP only changes if you apply the result at the end.
Connect first?
For full app functionality, we recommend first connecting your Intervals.icu account. This syncs your calendar and FTP to this device. If you opt to continue without connecting, you can take a ramp test or manually enter an FTP.
Strava can be connected in Settings>Connections.
